The following are the special services provided to the community by the Independence police department.

Take control of your neighborhood, meet with officers and learn how to make and keep your neighborhood safe. |
| House Watch |
While you are away from your home, let us check your house for you. Each shift will check doors to make sure they are locked and will check the overall area for any damage. |
| Home Security Survey |
One of our officers will come to your residence to complete a survey and then give you ideas on how your residence could be made more secure. |
| Residential Video Tape |
You supply the videotape and one of our officers will tape your property and possessions as you describe them. Use as a record for insurance purposes. |
| Crime Stoppers |
Call 332-1708 to report criminal activity in your neighborhood. You are not required to leave your name. |

Identikid |
Have your children fingerprinted and retain the record for your safekeeping. |
| Bicycle Registration |
The police department will register your bicycle(s) with a number to identify the owner by frame or registration number. |
| Mailing List |
Call us at 332-1700 to be placed on our Community Policing Mailing List. You will receive helpful information regarding criminal activity in our area. |
