MISSION
The Independence Housing Authority is an organization dedicated to improving the quality of life by providing decent and affordable housing in a safe secure living environment for low and moderate-income residents throughout the City of Independence.
ROLE
The Independence Housing Authority is a governmental or public body that is authorized by the State of Kansas and the City of Independence to engage in or assist in the development or operation of housing and housing programs for low and moderate income families.

The Independence Housing Authority shall comply with all federal, state, and local nondiscrimination laws, the rules and regulations covering Fair Housing and Equal Opportunity, and the American with Disabilities Act.
