The Independence Municipal Court deals with alleged violations of City ordinances committed within the City limits.
The Municipal Court Clerk’s office is located on the first floor of City Hall to the right of the front doors.
Fines are paid in the City Clerk/ Water Department office on the first floor of City Hall. They accept payment by check, money order, Visa or MasterCard Debit or Credit. If paying by phone please call 620-332-2500.
The Municipal Court office prepares the docket for three (3) court sessions a week:
Monday at 8:00 a.m.
Friday at 8:00 a.m. (Arraignments for traffic violations and city code violations)
Wednesdays at 2:00 p.m. (Arraignments for misdemeanor criminal violations)
Wednesdays at 2:30 p.m. (All trials)
The Courtroom is located on the second floor of City Hall.
