Penn Terrace Apartments
(1 and 2 bedroom apartments for persons 62 years of age or older)
Penn Terrace Apartments were constructed in 1978 by the City of Independence for persons 62 years of age and older. Residents’ rents are 30% of their adjusted monthly income with a HUD subsidy paying the difference. Residents are responsible for their telephone service and a minimal payment for cable television. All other utilities are included in the rent. Penn Terrace Apartments are not an assisted living facility. Residents must be able to live independently.

Penn Terrace Amenities: Community Room with two sitting areas, kitchen for family and friends to gather on the main floor, pool table and shuffleboard, craft room, exercise room, woodworking shop, beauty salon, laundry facilities on every floor, barbecue grill, and emergency call buttons in bedroom and bathroom of each apartment.
Other Benefits: Maintenance free, monthly birthday dinners, hamburger night, bean feed night, ice cream social, donuts and coffee, monthly programs, and evenings full of socializing putting together puzzles, playing cards, or just sitting around visiting.
