Description:

The City of Independence, Kansas, is soliciting proposals from qualified professional design consultants to assist the City of Independence’s owned Ralph Mitchell Zoo in designing an ADA accessible single stall restroom meeting or exceeding the attached specifications.

Proposals will be received in the office of the City Clerk, 811 W. Laurel Street, Independence, KS. 67301, on or before 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 15, 2021. Proposals shall be plainly marked “ZOO ADA RESTROOM”. Email proposals should be sent to the following email addresses in one complete pdf attachment. Proposals that are received after 2:00 p.m. will not be considered.

Miscellaneous:
A pre-proposal meeting and tour of the Ralph Mitchell Zoo Kiddy Land area will be held on March 24th, 2021 from 1:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. for any architect who may be interested in placing a proposal for this project. In addition, if the contracting firm is unable to attend the meeting and tour in person, the option to attend the meeting via conference call is available. Please contact the Park and Zoo Director, Angela Anthony, by March 19, 2021 at 5:00 p.m. if you are requesting to participate via phone. While participate in the pre-proposal meeting is not necessary, it is strongly encouraged that at least one member of the contracting team is present at the meeting. City staff will facilitate the meeting and will include a scope of the project, a tour of the zoo, as well as a period for questions and answers.
