Sign Details and Specifications:
There are not more details for each sign. We utilized a Crowdspring.com contest for the basic design and are relying on the sign bidder to determine exact specifications. The last page of the RFP provides a rough perspective for sizing. We are seeking durable signs and welcome alternatives. We assume signs placed on the highway and on city streets will have a different size recommendation than those placed for foot traffic.
Funds availability will determine the quantity and timing for the sign acquisitions. We do not anticipate being able to simultaneously order all signs for each phase. The RFP asks for discount details on volume purchases so that savings can be taken into consideration. There are 22 Primary Directional Signs and 35 Secondary Directional Signs (Including Riverside Park signage) in the Plan in addition to 5 Kiosk Signs.
We are working with KDOT to secure the necessary right-of-way permits and plan to have those issues addressed prior to purchasing and installing signs
Dates for Start and Completion:
We would like to start as soon as possible subject to City Commission authorization. The plan is to install the signs in phases over a three to five year period. Our hope is that community organizations and businesses will step forward and help the City purchase the signs. Fund availability will determine the quantity and timing for the signs.
