The City of Independence is requesting proposals for audio/video design & installation services to also include minor electrical work in the Veterans Room at the Independence Memorial Hall Civic Center located at 410 N. Penn Ave. This project would upgrade a designated area in the Memorial Hall facility to allow for built-in video streaming and recording capabilities that would be utilized for virtual public meetings, trainings, etc. Events livestreamed could be watched anywhere there is adequate internet, including private homes, offices, or larger venues. In addition to including wireless microphones, it would also include two built-in stationary cameras. The system would also allow a videographer to plug into the system using their own camera equipment. Complementary projectors in the auditorium of Memorial Hall would allow for these meetings to be streamed to a large enough space to socially distance participants. This project would provide technology improvements to help our county's connectivity. Businesses, government entities, and individuals could use this technology to live stream events.
The City utilizes the Veterans room for City Commission meetings and in its current configuration and setup the recording of Commission Meetings requires a video company as well as the City to stretch Audio & Video cables as well as power cables across the floor through paths of travel creating trip and egress hazards. The City is wanting to rectify this issue by installing more conveniently located A/V connection points that route back to the A/V terminal cabinet within the Veterans Room. The audio mixing shall be handled by a portable mixing board or wireless tablet (provided by the proposer) run through the A/V cabinet, that can be connected to a CAT6 connection or wirelessly. The City is also wanting the ability to “Live” stream the Commission Meetings to YouTube, Facebook, Twitter, etc. out of the terminal cabinet and in order to accomplish this a streaming processor will be required in addition to the other devices needed within this RFP. The streaming component should have the ability to accommodate the current A/V equipment as well as future A/V style equipment. The City’s base component is an Extron SMP351-3GSDI 80GB SSD.
