March 5, 2025 – Construction crews will begin work on a new water line under the North 10th Street railroad crossing on Monday, March 10, with traffic disruptions expected throughout the week. This work marks the final phase of a water line replacement project that began in 2024.
Crews will bore under the railroad between Railroad and Pecan Streets, initially narrowing traffic lanes to 12 feet. As soon as Wednesday, March 12, traffic flow may be intermittently reduced to a single lane for periods of at least 20 minutes at a time. Flaggers will be onsite to assist, but motorists are encouraged to plan ahead and consider alternate routes.
By the week of March 17, two-way traffic is expected to resume with only occasional disruptions. Construction is scheduled to be completed by March 21.
The City appreciates the public’s patience as we complete this critical infrastructure improvement.
